Vicinity Centres is investing approximately $240 million to transform Galleria Morley into a more contemporary retail, dining and lifestyle destination. James Fudge, Project Director, shares how the redevelopment is responding to the evolving needs of Perth’s north-east growth corridor. Galleria has played an important role in the lives of local families for more than 30 years, and this redevelopment is about building on that legacy in a way that meets the needs of today’s customers. The Gal
leria redevelopment is a major transformation of one of Perth’s most recognised retail destinations, designed to create a more contemporary, engaging and convenient centre for customers, retailers and the local community. With an investment of approximately $240 million, the project will modernise the centre and introduce new experiences that better reflect how people shop, dine and spend time today.
Across two levels, the redevelopment will deliver a substantial refresh of the centre’s retail environment, including the upgrade and refresh of 100 tenancies, the creation of The Terrace precinct, upgrades to Centre Court and an expansion of Galleria’s gross lettable area by about 6000sqm. The vision is to build on Galleria’s established role in the region while strengthening its role as a vibrant, retail, dining and lifestyle destination.
The project supports our broader strategy of curating a higher quality, higher-growth asset portfolio, by creating places that combine convenience, lifestyle and entertainment in one location. This investment will help support retailers, attract customers and strengthen Galleria’s future performance.
Enhancing the customer experience
This redevelopment represents a significant elevation of Galleria, with the customer experience being reimagined across both levels of the centre. The project is focused on improving comfort, connectivity and ease of movement throughout the centre.
This includes major upgrades to building services, amenities, public spaces and sightlines, designed to support a more intuitive customer journey and a stronger sense of arrival. A key feature is The Terrace, a new precinct that will create opportunities for customers to dine, gather and spend more time at the centre.
Together with upgrades to Centre Court, enhanced landscaping, refreshed finishes and upgraded balustrades, the redevelopment will help elevate Galleria’s role as a leading retail and lifestyle destination for Perth’s north-east.
Retail for a growing region
Vicinity is delivering a carefully curated retail mix that responds to the needs of the greater trade area while lifting the overall offer. The focus is on attracting an elevated mix of retailers across fashion, lifestyle, food and leisure that will broaden customer choice and support Galleria’s repositioning as a leading destination within the region.
We continue to invest in high-quality retail assets that serve growing communities and evolve with customer expectations. Galleria represents the most significant redevelopment under way in Western Australia and reflects our confidence in the Morley catchment and Perth’s north-east growth corridor. Vicinity is also a long-term owner and manager of major retail destinations across Western Australia, including Lakeside Joondalup, DFO Perth, Rockingham, Mandurah Forum and Ellenbrook.
Looking ahead
For more than three decades, Galleria has been part of daily life in Morley and the surrounding suburbs. Once complete in late 2026, the redevelopment is expected to re-energise the centre as a vibrant regional hub, creating new reasons for customers to visit, connect and spend time.
The project will deliver a stronger retail and leisure offer while supporting local employment, attracting further investment, and contributing to Morley’s continued growth.
Our ambition is for Galleria to again be recognised as a centre that serves the community today while remaining relevant for future generations.
