Construction has started on the $85 million Deanside Central shopping centre, located in the fast-growing Melbourne suburb.

The centre will offer 8200sqm of net lettable area across a 21,000sqm site on the corner of Hopkins Road and Conservatory Drive when completed in early 2027.

The property will be anchored by a large-format Coles supermarket and feature up to 30 retail outlets, including Liquorland, Yes Yes Indian Supermarket, Anytime Fitness and Direct Chemist Outlet, alongside beauty and food and beverage operators.

Oreana, developer of Deanside Central, said the centre is the first major retail hub in Deanside, located within the sought-after Kororoit precinct and the rapidly growing Melton City Council.

The area’s population grew by more than 13,000 residents between 2023 and 2024 alone, and more than 4000 new homes are expected to be added each year until 2046.

Oreana MD Tony Sass said Deanside Central would become the heart of the growing Deanside community, strategically positioned by schools, parks, childcare and residents.

“The commencement of construction at Deanside Central marks another significant milestone in Oreana’s commitment to supporting Melbourne’s expanding outer suburbs with vital retail infrastructure,” Sass said.

“Deanside Central will bring essential retail and everyday services directly to the local community, enhancing everyday life for residents,” he added.

Aside from Deanside Central, Oreana is also carrying out the construction of other neighbourhood shopping centres, namely Botanical Village in Mickleham, Warralily Quarter in Armstrong Creek, Linfield Place in Wollert, and Beveridge Village in Beveridge among others.
