Forest Hill Chase has launched its major Level 1 redevelopment, further cementing its position as one of Whitehorse’s most established community shopping destinations.

Haben, manager and co-owner of Forest Hill Chase, has undertaken a significant strategic investment to modernise and reposition the 60-year-old centre for long-term growth in a highly competitive retail landscape.

Key improvements include removing the outdated “five ways” junction to open clear sightlines, restoring intuitive navigation, and repositioning a previously obscured food court to reconnect seamlessly with the fresh food precinct.

Designed around a nature-inspired concept, Level 1 has been reimagined as a welcoming environment aimed at attracting both new and returning shoppers. Natural materials, greenery, and warm textures have been integrated to create a cohesive retail experience.

The launch introduced new retailers, including KFC, Soul Origin, Dumpling Chef, Bunn Mee & Pho, Woodfrog, Boutique Hearing Clinic, Em Blooms Florist, Palgong Tea, The Butcher Club, and Hills Meats. Sweetbox, Panda Origin Kitchen and 1919 Master Lanzhou will also join the portfolio in the coming time.

Existing brands, including Colonial Fresh, Breadtop, Bakers Delight, Subway, Priceline Pharmacy, Hairhouse, Amplifon, and Flight Centre, have also undergone refurbishment.

Ben Finger, MD of Haben, said the Level 1 redevelopment marked a major step forward in the long-term repositioning strategy for the centre.

“We’ve simplified navigation, revitalised key precincts across fresh food and casual dining, improved ambience and accessibility, and reconnected the centre with the community,” Finger said.

These works will strengthen the centre’s appeal for shoppers, retailers, and investors for years to come,” he added.

The launch event was hosted by Nova 100’s Ash Gardner and attended by newly appointed Whitehorse Mayor Kirsten Langford, senior representatives from co-owners Haben and JY Group, and new and existing retailers.

More enhancements and upgrades to the upper levels are underway and set to improve the centre’s offering further in the future.
