Scentre Group’s Head of Parking and Valet, Derek Cable, has been announced as the 2024 recipient of the Shopping Centre Council of Australia’s (SCCA) 2024 Frank Lowy Fellowship.

Proudly supported by Scentre Group, the Frank Lowy Fellowship is an industry initiative of the SCCA and recognises emerging leaders who have demonstrated innovation and distinction in their professional field and who have made a significant contribution to the shopping centre industry.

Derek Cable, has been recognised with the prestigious award for his innovative work across Scentre Group’s Westfield destinations, including the introduction of ticketless parking, new business intelligence platforms and the establishment of a national call centre for car park operations.

The Frank Lowy Fellowship was established in 2016 in recognition of the contribution made by Sir Frank Lowy AC to the Australian shopping centre industry and is awarded to an emerging leader who has demonstrated distinction in their professional field and a commitment to industry excellence.

QIC’s Nathan Maroon has also been recognised with a Highly Commended award following his development of QIC’s marketing traffic and sales attribution model.

Sir Frank Lowy AC said: “As the Fellowship again recognises the important contributions made by individuals to our industry, it is pleasing to see this year’s nominees represent such a broad range of specialties – from Marketing, Procurement, Parking, Design, Property, Data and Leasing – all who have excelled in their fields.

“I would like to acknowledge and congratulate all the nominees. It is wonderful to hear about the immense talent, innovation and extraordinary leadership in the shopping centre industry.”
