Harbour Town Premium Outlets is celebrating its 25th anniversary in style, hosting Queensland’s largest Black Friday event from November 29 to December 1. The milestone event offers a platform for retailers to connect with shoppers through extended trading hours, exclusive promotions from leading brands, and engaging onsite activations.

Highlighting the event is the Gold Coast’s first-ever human claw machine, an innovative experience offering participants the chance to win a share of prizes valued at $15,000, including a $1,000 Harbour Town Gift Card per session. The celebration will also feature a spectacular fireworks display at 7pm on Black Friday, creating a vibrant atmosphere designed to drive foot traffic and consumer engagement.

Since its establishment in 1999, Harbour Town Premium Outlets has cemented its status as a trailblazer in Australia’s retail landscape, being the country’s first dedicated outlet shopping centre.

Jointly developed by the Lewis Land Group and Vicinity Centres, the property has grown significantly, with expansions in 2005, 2007, 2016, 2018, and the upcoming Convenience Mall upgrade in 2024, reinforcing its position as Australia’s largest outlet shopping destination.

Tanya Demaria, Group Marketing Manager for Lewis Land, emphasised Harbour Town’s pivotal role in shaping outlet retail in Australia.

“For 25 years, Harbour Town Premium Outlets has been a landmark shopping destination on the Gold Coast. It’s become an iconic part of our city, consistently delivering exceptional value and a unique shopping experience to locals and visitors alike,” said Demaria.

As a key driver of local economic activity, Harbour Town continues to attract both domestic and international visitors, delivering measurable benefits for retailers, partners, and the community.

“Not only does Harbour Town contribute to the local economy by way of retail, jobs, development, and business, but it is also a proactive driver of tourism to the region, successfully serving both visitors and locals. As we celebrate a quarter century, we’re excited to continue evolving and innovating to meet the changing needs of our customers for many more years to come,” said Demaria.

The Black Friday event underscores Harbour Town’s ongoing commitment to supporting its retail partners and stakeholders. With increased shuttle services for tourists, extended trading hours, and strategic entertainment activations, the event provides a robust opportunity for businesses to maximise their exposure and sales during one of the year’s most significant retail periods.

As Harbour Town looks to the future, it remains focused on innovation and customer-centric strategies, ensuring continued relevance and success for its retail partners in an evolving market.
