NSW property group Holdmark has kicked off its staged $2.5 billion transit-oriented development of Burwood Place, boasting the region’s residential community and retail industry.

Located between Sydney and Parramatta CBDs, the development, in consultation with Burwood Council and local residents, is designed as a combined precinct for the Inner West’s economy and residential development.

“This project will deliver on all fronts and bring together best-practice urban design and community-led placemaking that will see it set a new benchmark for mixed-use urban hubs in Sydney,” said Kevin Nassif, Holdmark CEO.

He said the “five-minute neighbourhood” development will also provide Aussies with seamless east-west transport links, while supporting the state and federal government housing targets.

Burwood Place’s completion is expected to inject over $750 million into the local economy annually and offer features, including 27,000sqm of retail, medical, and fresh food space, 14,000sqm of commercial space, a public library, and car parks.

Burwood Place is scheduled to be completed in stages over the next six years, commencing with the construction of a new urban park and culture house, supermarket and retail areas, commercial and residential areas, a 200-place childcare centre (subject to approvals) and a new specialist medical precinct.
