For its seventh year in a row, Pacific Fair has successfully hosted its popular school holiday activation, Skatefest, where a section of the shopping centres’ carpark transforms into a giant custom skate park.

During this years nine-day activation, Pacific Fair’s Skatefest welcomed more than 1,300 kids to participate in skating lessons from professionals, and more than 450 kids who engaged their creative skills to design a skating themed t-shirt to take home.

Kate Halpin, Pacific Fair’s Senior Marketing Manager, was ecstatic to bring back the excitement-packed school holiday activation.

“We always look forward to putting together unique, low-cost activities for families to enjoy over the school holidays, and our Skatefest activation is one that we have countless requests to bring back every year,” said Halpin.

“It’s wonderful to see the kids grow in their confidence as they navigate the lessons and beam with pride when they complete a creative design, and we want to continue to support their abilities and passion for the sport.”

In addition to the skate lessons and creative classes, Pacific Fair’s Skatefest also welcomes a yearly ‘Demo Night’ where professional, sponsored, and Olympic skaterboarders are invited to showcase their skills on the custom skate park after hours.

“This year we were so excited to welcome a handful of Volcom and Surf Dive n Ski sponsored skaters to demonstrate their tricks and inspire the next generation.”

“We had an audience of about 250 people at our Demo Night who were all captivated by the talent we had on our skate park, all whilst enjoying a delicious, fresh meal from our friends at Joe’s Deli.”

“Running our Skatefest activiation year after year continually gives us a fantastic opportunity to offer something fun, entertaining, and convenient for families, whilst also supporting our retailers,” said Halpin.
