Robina Town Centre will mark its 30th anniversary this month, celebrating its transformation from a greenfield development into one of Queensland’s leading shopping destinations.

Since opening on April 26, 1996, the centre has grown from an initial 175 stores to a large regional destination with more than 370 retailers, complemented by dining, entertainment, and services, attracting more than 13 million visitors each year.

Anchored by national and global brands such as David Jones, Myer, H&M, Apple, and major supermarkets, Robina Town Centre continues to attract local and international retailers seeking to establish a presence in the Gold Coast market.

Originally developed by Robin Loh and Arthur Earle, the project laid the foundation for the Robina precinct’s development into a key commercial and lifestyle centre. The property is now owned and managed by QIC (Queensland Investment Corporation).

The centre underwent a series of major redevelopments, including the introduction of the Promenade in 2009 and the launch of The Kitchens, an Australian-first food precinct concept within a shopping centre, in 2016.

QIC portfolio centre manager Matt Powis said the anniversary highlights the asset’s performance and its long-term alignment with the Gold Coast corridor’s growth.

“For 30 years, Robina Town Centre has grown alongside one of Australia’s fastest-growing regions, continually reinvesting to enhance its retail mix, customer experience, and overall offering,” he said.

To coincide with the milestone, Robina Town Centre will roll out a “30 Years of Memories” campaign featuring a $30,000 customer giveaway to drive foot traffic and customer loyalty.

Looking ahead, the centre will focus on ongoing asset enhancement, leasing optimisation and customer experience innovation to reinforce its position as a key retail and lifestyle hub within the region.
