Westfield Southland has officially launched its revitalised dining and entertainment precinct, welcoming a dynamic new mix of retailers, family attractions, and food experiences to Melbourne’s southeast.

The launch weekend (19–22 June) saw thousands of visitors join in the celebrations, which included a vibrant line-up of live music and interactive performances, a “Spin to Win” activation with more than $45,000 in instant prizes, and the Victorian debut of Timezone’s new ColourGrid experience, exclusive to Westfield Southland.

The new precinct delivers an expanded offer that includes Timezone & Zone Bowling, Little Amigo’s Kids Cafe, popular eateries Kinn Thai Restaurant, Zeus Street Greek, and Yo-Chi, as well as Toymate and Macpac, all of which are now open. A refreshed David Jones also relaunched on Level 2, with Level 1 to reopen later this year.

Reflecting the coastal lifestyle of the Bayside area, the precinct features upgraded interiors, lush planting, new lighting and flooring, and improved vertical connectivity via a new escalator and lift linking Level 2 dining with entertainment on Level 3.

Westfield Southland Centre Manager Michael Croxford said the response from the community was overwhelmingly positive: “We’ve been thrilled to see the energy and excitement from our customers over the weekend. This revitalised precinct is all about bringing new experiences to the local community — from great food and family fun to more convenient access and an enhanced shopping environment.

“The introduction of these new retailers and dining experiences, along with a refreshed centre experience, expands the family-friendly offer available in Melbourne’s Southeast, providing Westfield Southland customers with even more choice,” said Croxford.

In addition to retail and dining upgrades, three large-scale murals by local artists now feature at centre entrances. The artworks by Merindah-Gunya, Sasha Heath, and Jess Lowther (Hoffy) celebrate connection to Country, Bayside life, and community identity through bold, site-responsive works.

The refreshed precinct represents a significant step in Scentre Group’s commitment to evolving Westfield Southland in line with customer expectations and enhancing its position as a key lifestyle destination in Melbourne’s southeast.
