Bay Central Woolooware, a newly completed shopping centre in Sydney’s Sutherland Shire, has been put up for sale, with agents expecting strong interest from institutional investors.

The 18,100sqm centre was completed in 2024 and is anchored by Woolworths, Aldi and Dan Murphy’s, alongside more than 37 specialty tenants.

Its retail mix includes Panetta Mercato, Cronulla Meat Company, The Reject Shop, Bakers Delight and UFC Gym, with Salon Lane recently announced as a new mini-major tenant. The centre also has 771 car spaces across four levels of integrated parking.

JLL’s Nick Willis and Sam Hatcher, and CBRE’s Simon Rooney and James Douglas have been appointed to manage an international expressions of interest campaign for the 100 per cent interest in the centre.

“In the past 20 years, only seven convenience-based centres over 15,000sqm have sold within 20km of the Sydney CBD,” said Nick Willis.

“Bay Central is not only part of that exclusive cohort, but also the only newly completed, triple-anchor neighbourhood centre to be offered formally on the market in metropolitan Sydney in over a decade. We are witnessing significant institutional capital, both domestic and offshore, specifically seeking deployment into core Sydney metropolitan assets like Bay Central.”

The centre forms part of the broader $1 billion Woolooware Bay Town Centre precinct, which includes residential apartments, a hotel, commercial suites and the Cronulla Sharks Leagues Club.

Bay Central serves a trade area of about 236,729 residents, with retail expenditure estimated at $4.7 billion and forecast to reach $9.9 billion by 2046.

Future development at the proposed Boat Harbour Precinct could add about 4300 homes and more than 10,000 residents to the catchment.

The international expressions of interest campaign is scheduled to launch this month.
