The Pines Elanora shopping centre has donated $47,500 to local surf lifesaving clubs across the Southern Gold Coast region.

In partnership with the Surf Life Saving Queensland community, the Shop for Your Surf Club campaign is supporting 11 participating clubs from the Point Danger Branch and running from August 25 to October 5.

The campaign invites customers to help their favourite surf club receive the highest score by centre-based activities, including uploading shopping receipts, attending events, and sharing centre experiences on social media.

The club with the highest score will receive a $10,000 cash donation, while other participating clubs will receive a share of the prize pool, ranging from $2000 for 11th place.

Jared Clark, president of SLSQ Point Danger Branch, said the funding will go a long way in helping clubs purchase much-needed equipment ahead of the busy summer season.

“Our community is built on the efforts of volunteers like our local surf lifesavers. This campaign gives our customers a chance to give back in a meaningful way – simply by shopping or attending fun events at the centre,” said John Weaver, The Pines Elanora’s manager.
