Perth shopping centre Maddington Central is moving forward with the next phase of its $6 million redevelopment.

This phase will introduce a new outdoor dining precinct, with three new food and beverage tenants, while offering a refreshed entrance and new car park shade sails.

The development follows last year’s refurbishment of the centre’s food court. The upcoming improvements will focus on the Coles area and the main entrance, featuring upgraded landscaping, new lighting, improved signage, and an expanded outdoor seating area.

Acquired in 2024 by the investment firm Realside, with commercial real estate firm CBRE managing the property, Maddington Central has operated for over 45 years.

The site will soon feature three new dining options, including a pizzeria, a burger restaurant, and a cafe, along with interior modifications and two public murals by Perth artist Sioux Tempestt.

The upgrades are scheduled to be completed in early next year.

Amy Barber, CBRE’s director of retail property management, said the enhancements are designed to extend customer dwell times while allowing existing retailers to maintain operations during construction.

“Our priority throughout the project is to work closely with retailers and stakeholders to minimise disruption to day-to-day trading while delivering meaningful improvements that will support the centre’s long-term success,” said Barber.

Linda Rudd, CEO of Realside, added, “Our investment goes beyond just improving the appearance of the centre; we aim to create a better experience for our customers, attract new retailers and services, and provide the community with a place they can be genuinely proud to call their local centre.”
