Harbour Town Premium Outlets has unveiled an $8 million transformation plan for its Western Mall precinct, as part of the centre’s continued investment in customer experience and long-term growth.
The upgrade will refresh the Western Mall’s shopping environment, with renovations spanning from the Tourism Lounge to Kathmandu and the crossover mall leading to Polo Ralph Lauren, set to be completed by the peak Christmas trading period.
In partnership with RPS Consulting, Crest Project Management and Buchan, the renovation includes upgraded paving and lighting, a custom-built playground based on customer feedback, new seating, enhanced landscaping, water features, additional shade and greenery, and a potential new food and beverage kiosk.

“Harbour Town is one of the Gold Coast’s most loved retail destinations, with over 10 million people visiting each year, and as that visitation continues to grow, it is important that our centre experience continues to evolve with it,” Harbour Town Centre manager, Greg Day, said.
The investment comes amid Harbour Town’s rising traffic and as the surrounding northern Gold Coast corridor prepares for significant residential growth. Day stressed that it reflects the centre’s long-term commitment to meeting the region’s growing needs for retail, dining and lifestyle experiences.
“The recent Light Rail announcement is a major step in improving connectivity across the northern Gold Coast, and this investment will help ensure Harbour Town continues to offer a high-quality and welcoming experience as the precinct evolves,” he furthered.
Works on stage 1 commenced this week and will be delivered in phases to minimise disruption to retailers and customers. Construction will take place outside centre trading hours, with retailers remaining open throughout the works.

“We are confident this project will bring the western mall precinct to life and create a more comfortable and attractive environment for both customers and retailers,” Day concluded.
The transformation also further strengthens Harbour Town’s position as Australia’s largest outlet shopping centre and a key retail, lifestyle and tourism destination for the Gold Coast.
