WA-based property group Hawaiian has appointed its former COO, Beau Waters, as CEO following Richard Kilbane’s resignation.
Kilbane, a 21-year veteran of the company, stepped down two months ago after a health scare that gave him a “renewed sense of clarity”. “Hawaiian is in a strong position, with a clear strategy and deep leadership capability. In many ways, that’s why this feels like the right moment,” he said in a statement at the time.
The company chair, Russell Gibbs, said that the decision to name Waters as his successor came after a “rigorous” recruitment process, which resulted in unanimous board approval of Waters.
“Since joining Hawaiian as chief operating officer in 2025, Beau has made a significant impact across the business,” Gibbs said. “He is a respected leader who has earned the trust of our people, built strong relationships with stakeholders, and consistently demonstrated the values that sit at the heart of Hawaiian.”
Waters has begun his role effective immediately, Hawaiian added.
He called the company a “special organisation”, and said he was honoured to lead the business.
“I believe our success comes from the strength of our people, our partnerships and the communities we’re part of,” Waters added. “I’m excited about what lies ahead and look forward to working alongside our team to continue creating places where people and businesses thrive.”
