Parkmore Shopping Centre in Keysborough has completed a major retail redevelopment, transforming the former Big W site with a new precinct featuring three large-format stores.
The new area is home to global retailer TK Maxx, supermarket chain Aldi, and sporting goods retailer Rebel, which together enhance Parkmore’s standing as a shopping destination in Melbourne’s southeast.
All three businesses opened within a week, with TK Maxx included in the centre’s revamp program announced in May.
This redevelopment follows elevated customer traffic at the shopping centre. As of last year, Parkmore recorded $320 million in sales and welcomed over 7.5 million customers.
Parkmore Shopping Centre manager Jo Bush said that the project aims to adapt the facility to changing consumer demand within the local community.
“Parkmore has been at the heart of this community for more than 50 years, and this next chapter is about building on that heritage while giving local families even more reasons to choose Parkmore.
“Bringing TK Maxx, Aldi and Rebel together in one new precinct significantly strengthens our offer, giving customers more of what they’re looking for – great value, greater choice and the convenience of having their everyday needs in one place,” Bush continued.
“Following our strongest year on record, this investment reflects our confidence in Parkmore and the community we serve. We’re incredibly excited to welcome these three major retailers and celebrate this milestone with our customers.”
Bush added that the development follows the centre’s highest sales figures to date and aligns with ongoing commercial investment in the facility.
