Stockland has opened the first stage of its $65 million Providence Town Centre in South Ripley, Queensland, featuring nearly 30 retailers and services.
Stage 1 of the new centre spans more than 8000sqm, anchored by a full-line Coles supermarket. Other tenants include a Green Leaves Early Learning childcare centre, Priceline Pharmacy, health and wellbeing operators, and a range of dining and takeaway outlets.
Located within the Providence residential community, the centre has been designed to provide everyday convenience for local residents while supporting the area’s rapid population growth.
Marco Ettorre, executive GM of town centres at Stockland, said the project reflects the company’s focus on essentials-based retail destinations.
“Stockland Providence Town Centre brings together the services people rely on most, from groceries and childcare to health, wellbeing and dining, all in a convenient, accessible local setting,” Ettorre said.
“By developing, owning and managing neighbourhood town centres within our masterplanned communities, we’re creating places that can grow with the community, supporting liveability and day‑to‑day convenience as Providence continues to evolve.”

Stockland is targeting a 5 Star Green Star rating for the development, with sustainability initiatives including a 440kVA rooftop solar system and a 770kW battery.
According to the company, the project supported more than 2000 direct and indirect jobs during construction and is expected to provide around 338 ongoing roles.
Providence is currently home to about 4000 residents and is forecast to grow to approximately 20,000 people upon completion. The masterplanned community includes parks, playgrounds, sporting facilities, bike paths and planned education and healthcare infrastructure.
