Sydney’s Rouse Hill Town Centre has reopened after a $200 million expansion, which it has billed as its most significant work since its opening in 2007.
The addition of 50 stores and around 10,500sqm of new retail space comes alongside the expansion and addition of Mecca, Rebel, Country Road and Peter Alexander in the centre.
The GPT Group began construction on the project in April 2025, supporting 400 jobs through the process. The centre said it has created space for around 400 new retail jobs.
“Rouse Hill Town Centre has grown alongside the Hills community for almost 20 years, and this $200 million investment marks an exciting new chapter in that story,” said centre manager, Ben Simpson-Morgan.
“Sydney’s north-west is growing at an extraordinary pace, and with that comes an expectation for the same quality of shopping, dining and lifestyle experiences people would traditionally travel into the city to enjoy.”
This “extraordinary pace” of growth in the region refers to its current trade area of 640,000 residents, which is forecast to reach 775,000 people by 2036.
“This is an exciting milestone for Rouse Hill and the wider Hills community. As our region continues to grow, investments like this help create local jobs, support businesses and provide more places for families and friends to come together,” Hills Shire Mayor, Dr Michelle Byrne, said.
“Rouse Hill Town Centre is an important part of our community, and this expansion will help ensure it continues to meet the needs of residents for many years to come.”
