truction, the first stage will deliver approximately 16,300 square metres of retail and commercial space, anchored by a full-line Woolworths and ALDI, alongside mini-majors and around 55 specialty stores. Stage one will also include 680 street-level and basement car parking spaces, enhancing accessibility.
Aura Town Centre is about much more than shopping. It’s being designed as a vibrant destination where people can dine, connect, stay active and spend time together.
Planned as a central part of Aura’s masterplan, it’s been designed to connect seamlessly with the 5.3-hectare Aura Parklands and the Aura Hotel, operated by the Comiskey Group. Together, they will create the retail and mixed-use heart of the 100-hectare Aura City Centre, forming a regionally significant destination that serves both Aura residents and the broader Sunshine Coast community. From the swimming lagoon and picnic lawns to local cafes and health and wellness facilities, the precinct will connect residents and visitors through shared experiences and amenities.
Supporting a growing community
The Sunshine Coast is one of Australia’s fastest-growing regions, with Aura Town Centre’s primary trade area forecast to reach 30,000 people by 2028. This includes the wider Aura community, which is currently home to 16,000 residents and is expected to grow to around 50,000 over time.
As the population continues to expand, so does the need for everyday retail, essential services, dining, entertainment and local employment opportunities. Residents increasingly want access to these amenities closer to home, reducing travel time while supporting a more connected and convenient lifestyle.
Aura Town Centre is being delivered to meet this growing demand, playing a key role in establishing a significant retail, dining and lifestyle precinct that will bring jobs, services and investment to the Sunshine Coast.
Everyday convenience, curated
Aura Town Centre is an example of how we bring Stockland’s retail strategy to life. Our approach is centred on delivering the everyday essentials that our communities need, including supermarkets, fresh food, medical services, childcare, dining and other essential amenities. It’s a needs-based model that responds to population growth and evolving community needs, while providing a resilient foundation for long-term value creation.
The retail mix has been carefully curated to encourage people to stay longer and visit more often, complementing traditional retail and reflecting the way modern communities live, work and socialise. That means delivering the convenience residents rely on most, while creating more opportunities for people to connect and spend time locally. Whether it’s grabbing a coffee after the weekly grocery shop or meeting friends for lunch after a fitness class, the town centre will make it easier for residents to incorporate these activities into their daily lives.
Looking ahead
Aura Town Centre is currently under construction, with the first stage expected to open in late 2027, with ongoing leasing and delivery milestones to follow as the precinct continues to evolve.
