Shopping centre operator Westfield has partnered with national broadcaster SBS to broadcast the FIFA World Cup 2026 live across its Australian retail network.

Under the agreement, SBS Football Fan Zones will be established across all 37 Westfield locations in Australia, providing designated public areas for communities to view tournament matches.

The live broadcasts and associated events are scheduled to run from June 12 to July 20.

The fan zones will operate within indoor, all-ages environments and feature a coordinated schedule of entertainment and customer experiences alongside the live match feeds.

According to Jacqui Waine, GM of marketing & community at Scentre Group, the initiative uses the sporting event to drive community engagement and foot traffic within the local retail hubs by offering family-oriented viewing spaces.

“SBS is the proud home of the FIFA World Cup 2026, and we are excited to partner with Westfield to extend the reach and anticipation of the 2026 tournament,” said Uma Oldham at SBS.

“These Fan Zones provide a fantastic platform for fans to immerse themselves in the action and celebrate their passion for football in a communal, vibrant setting,” said Oldham.

Match schedules, operational hours, and specific site experiences will be updated continuously on the individual location pages via the Westfield website throughout this month and July.
