Real estate investor CapPru has begun construction on the $67 million Moreton Lifestyle Centre development in Queensland. The “highly anticipated” development is being constructed by property group Deluca, which will turn the 3.7ha site into a “major new destination”. It will bring convenience and lifestyle offerings, CapPru said, alongside “significant employment opportunities” for the City of Moreton Bay.
“This development has been carefully planned to meet the needs of a rapidly growing community, which has a projected additional 77,000 residents set to reside in the North Lakes – Redcliffe corridor by 2046,” said Jarrad Haynes, MD of CapPru. “Moreton Lifestyle Centre will deliver a high-quality retail and lifestyle destination that provides convenience, choice and employment opportunities close to home.”
Haynes said that the centre has already received commitments from Banjo’s, BP, KFC and Automasters.
“We are proud to be investing in the future of this city and to be working alongside exceptional project partners to bring this vision to life,” he added. “The strong interest we’ve received from national retailers reinforces the demand for a centre of this calibre in Brisbane’s growing northern corridor.”
Deluca’s MD, Nic De Luca, said the project will involve up to 120 people. “Our team is focused on delivering a high-quality development that meets the expectations of tenants, customers and the wider community,” he added. “We look forward to seeing the site take shape over the coming months.”
